DV Tapes > FCE > iDVD Problems

I'm having some difficulties exporting some old DV files from FCE.

The sequence is set to DV and the image size is 720 x576 (PAL). I have been trying to export the file through quicktime conversion. The settings i chose are as follows:

Format > Quicktime Movie
Options > Video > Settings > DV PAL
Compressor Quality > Best
Aspect ratio > 16:9

When exported the movie plays in quicktime as DV, 720 x 576 (1024 x 576).

It states it's current size is 1024 x 576 actual (so it plays in 16:9).

Now when i try and place this into iDVD it plays only as 4:3 (720 x 576)!

Am i doing something wrong or is this a limition of iDVD?

Have you chosen 16:9 from iDVD's Project>Project Info menu. Although iDVD should detect it as a 16:9 video.

Hi,

Yes i have selected 16:9 as the default project size but it does not make any difference. This is really annoying 🙄

I haven't done it for quite a while, but did you check letterboxing in the compressor options?
