I'm finally ready to tackle importing our 300+ DVDs/Blu-rays (some in 4K) into my NAS/Plex Server.

Any recommendations for software to use as well as DVD/Blu-ray drives?

I've heard Handbrake is the best ripper program available. Have no clue what drives work the best. Using a Mac Studio M1 Max with 64GB of memory.

I'm not sure HandBrake deals well with copy protection, and I don't think it rips Blu-rays at all – but if you can get an app that converts the Blu-rays to a good raw format, HandBrake is great at processing them to a preferred compressed format for long-term archival in your library.

I've gone through two cheaper Blu-ray readers which have both died on me, so I'll be watching for good recommendations I don't know about. (There aren't a ton.)
