I was inserting a DVD to record a movie I just finished and nothing happened. It seems like the machine is not pulling the disk in..... once it is in (i pushed in all the way in) it will not come out. I have to turn the computer off and when I turn it back on it will spit it out.

Any ideas?

Peace

Have you tried inserting a pre-recorded DVD in the drive? Does the same thing happen?

To eject a CD/DVD you don't have to power off your machine. Just select Restart and then hold down your mouse button until the disc is ejected.

You can try an SMC/SMU reset and a PRAM reset to see if this fixes the problem.

Worst case, you may have a bad drive.

It seems to be working now. It just did not want to grab the disk and pull it in.

Thanks for the help...

Peace
