dvd drive loud?

is it normal for the dvd drive to be loud on the imac?
its real loud when it is "changing position" like between chapters or something, but during normal playing its fine/completely quiet.
but when its "changing" spots it sounds like a robot walking

Yeah, seems pretty common.

As everyone has said, it's normal. If your DVD has stickers or something on it it may be making more noise than the average disc.
