Hello, I need help, please. We have imac computer. DVD drive suddenly stopped taking CDs in. I read forums, and other people solve the problem by tapping in the CD. So I did, and it worked. It is now suck it in, plays, eject. BUT if I do not take ejected disk immediately the drive pulls it in again. If I grab it, and take it out, then the drive make this clicking sound non stop, pretty loud. If I leave CD in, then the sound stops. What it could be? Did I brake it? Is there any way to fix it?

I think the clicking sound is the drive mechanism trying to pull the disk in that isn't there. With you mentioning "drive suddenly stopped taking CDS" I think the drive has developed a fault.

The only way to stop the clicking sound I expect, would be to either replace the drive. Or leave an old unwanted blank disc in the drive and perhaps purchase an external drive and use this instead of the internal drive. This would be easier than removing the screen etc to replace the internal cd/dvd drive in your iMac.

I don't know if this is possible on an iMac, but can you take out the cd drive and replace it with an SSD?

I do not think I can disassemble it myself. This is not like Microsoft computers
