DVD drive problem!

The last couple of days several times when I insert a disk in the dvd drive it makes a loud scratching noise and ejects the disk. It doesn't happen all the time but quite frequently the last 5 days! Should I go to service and replace the dvd drive?

What Mac are you referring to, & for how long have you had the Mac?

I have it less than a year and the iMac is a 24'' 3.06 with a Pioneer dvd drive!
