No, mini DVDs (8.5cm) are not meant for slot-drives, only for tray loading drives.

Get an external tray loading DVD drive, use a tray loading DVD drive on another computer and transfer via LAN or external HDD or flash memory stick.
Or if the camera has a USB port use that to read the DVD inside the camera, if that is possible.
Maybe you can have a look at the manual of the camera?
