DVD player not working???

i dont know whats going on here but every disc i try to watch always comes up " format not supported" all of them have been store bought discs. anchorman, fast and the furious, office space, etc. am i doing something wrong?

perhaps the region settings got changed at some point?
that's the first thing i'd look into.

I had that last week. Repaired Permissions and it worked nicely again...

Use Disk Utilities (in the Utilities folder)
Select the drive and click repair permissions

ya i couldnt get that to work... maybe i did it wrong? my dvd player drive doesnt show up... just my HD
