DVD player subtitle!!!!!! ugh

I have been watching sex and the city on my mac.
I have been watching it since season 1 and im on season 5 right now.

Last night i was watching it and I stopped watching
then this morning I started watching again and there was subtitle.
I was like "hm...?"

Then on Dvd player feature, subtitle is supposed to be off
and there's still subtitle.. you know what i mean?
and when i clicked english subtitle, I have 2 subtitles!!

I don't know what button I pushed but can somebody please help?

Make sure the closed captioning is not on, too. That would give the appearance of two subtitle tracks. Closed captioning is NOT the same as subtitles.
