I have a g4 iMac. When I place a DVD+R in the drive, my computer does not recognize it. Is this a problem with my drive or is the format not supported? Looks like it is according to this:

DVDs are unreliable. Your drive supports +R and -R, but that doesn't guarantee it'll read individual examples of either format. -R tends to be the more widely supported and arguably the more reliable of the two. If your drive is reading other discs without hiccuping, then the problem is the disk, not your drive.

Also sometimes you have one brand of DVD-R/+R that will work, and another that will not. Cheap DVD-R/+R (or whatever) may work on one drive but not in another.

    Thanks guys.

It is reading CD-R disc so it must just be the brand of DVD+R that I am using.
