dvd reading permissions and remounting dvds.

hi.

im trying to open files on dvdr(this dvd was burned in linux).
i cant seem to open the files in a program..but i can copy the files to my desktop, if i authenticate as a admin user.

it sounds like its some kind of access permissions fault


are there any fixes for this?
is this a common problem?
i thought of just remounting the dvd in terminal. but i dont know how to.
