DVD ripping?

What app do I need for true 1:1 DVD ripping?

I thought Hand Brake with VLC installed did that but I can't seem to get the 1:1 down. I rips the DVD but not in a way to create another DVD from the Rip. Unless of course I'm not doing it right. Which is a good possibility.

This is of course not for the purpose of illegally copying movies.
