Is is possible to watch dvd iso files on atv3 without converting ? like we do with mp4 or m4v

not entirely true.
it's very possible to have content in itunes that is outwith the supported spec of the appletv.

I had to use Hand Brake to convert my dvds to mk4. It was pretty straight forward though, just popped the dvd in my mac, clicked output for apple tv and left it running. Very good quality.

not to my knowledge, unless you stream via itunes/airplay

this is why a lot of us have held off on getting the 1080p apple tv......no jailbreak
