Hi there, i've thinking about trying a mac for the first time with the arriving of the new imacs, but i have some doubts about how can i do a couple things.

I burn a lot of dvds in my actual pc, and a lot of those burnings are dvd to dvd, i mean one optical unit reading and the other one burning. In the case of buying an imac, how can i do something like that?, cause of course i dont think it would be a good idea to abuse the imac internal optical unit with a lot of burning tasks.

Can i use something like 2 external dvd burners at the same time to do that job?

Thanks a lot for any advice.

Any external dvd burner will work, plugged in via USB or Firewire.

You can just use the internal drive... just a bit of a slower process - make a Master Image (ISO or DMG etc) on the hard drive and then burn that to a disc. Of course this is, as you said, more work for not only the internal burner but also the hard drive ;)

    Thanks guys for the reply.

I really dont want to make the internal burner work hard, and since i burn a lot of dvds, i wanted to know if i can have 2 external burners connected for that purpose, one reading and one burning.

Using a firewire connection would help me somehow vs using usb burners?
