Yeah, I just took a screen shot to test it, and it still isn't working. I have tried selecting both the move and select tools to see if it would make a difference, but it didn't. See:

I got it to work finally, after googling for a solution I found out that you can just put the annotation button in the tool bar, and you ALSO have to click and hold down the button to get options to appear, just a simple click doesn't do it. Yay. Condolences to the OP for a nice thread hi-jack. :p

Okay so open garageband, YOu should get this screen.

If you get a project window, just close it and it will come up.

Click create new music project. This screen will pop up

Name it, put it in a folder and click create.

When the project window opens, just drag the .m4a file into the project window.

Then find the places you want to chop, move the cursor over it and press :apple:commandT

And export the file!

I'll try it and let you know!
:)

Thank you for your very kind attention!

I created a new project.
But when I drag the .m4a file into the project window...GarageBand 'frozen'!
I tried 5 times...restart my iMac...tried again...and same thing, 'frozen'!

The file has 160MB. Maybe is it?

Frozen? An iMac specced like your shouldn't freeze.

OKay, so put drag the .m4a into iTunes.

Now go into the iTunes preferences and in the general settings tab, choose import settings.

When a new window pops up with the import settings make sure you choose
Import Using: AAC Encoder
Setting: iTunes Plus

Exit the iTunes preferences.

now right click on the file in iTunes, and choose "create AAC version".

Once it is done converting, select the AAC version in iTunes, right click a nd select "show in finder"

Drag the file from finder, into garageband like I said earlier.

Hope this works!

I will give you a link to upload the file so I will do it for you if it doesn't.

Omi,

I got a music form iTunes (.m4a - 8MB size), put in my finder, and dragged it into GarageBand. It worked! :)

But after cut the music (command T) I was not able to 'export' it.
How can I do it?

And about the other file (DVD)...do you think it 'frozen' GarageBand due its size (160MB)?

Thank you so much!
