Dvd Vid File Help...?

What do I do with these files to make them play?

Do I need to convert them? They don't want to open with any of my movie players, and won't open in idvd

I first assumed I must have to burn them to disc, but I've been given the thing on disc, so that doesn't make much sense....

Although the guy at the company's office I'm dealing with wasn't the usual fella today, so maybe he's done something wrong?

I don't want to say I don't know what to do with the files to appear looking stoopid.

Can anyone help?

I'd still like to know what I needed to do to get the thing to play, incase I ever come across the problem again.....
