DVI - External monitor appears black

Hi there,

I'm having troubles connecting my MBA 2014 to an external monitor with a DVI cable. Once connected, the MBA detects there is a second monitor and it even recognises its name and model. Nevertheless, the image stays black at the monitor.

I also have tried using SwitchResX without success.

Any help?
