I'm my mid-2007 Macbook Pro up to a Samsung SyncMaster 220WM via a DVI connection (using the supplied DVI connection out of the box and am encountering a strange issue. The Macbook Pro has its lid closed and am operating the monitor at 1680x1050@60hz resolution. The text disappears while scrolling in finder. It is a reproducible problem. I also noticed flickering and waves in darker colors. I hooked up my PS3 via HDMI to DVI without issue.

I noticed that the Macbook Pro is unusually hot after usage (to the point of nearly burning my hand). I've already had this Macbook Pro's logic board replaced once due to a graphics card issue. Any advice is appreciated. I'm bound to call AppleCare regarding the issue.
