I'm planning on getting a MacPro with the ATI card in the next month or so. Wondering, could I use the second DVI output (perhaps in conjunction with Apple's DVI -> S-video coverter) as an external video device in FCP? I've been using a crappy camcorder via Firewire to view video on a broadcast monitor, and I'd love to ditch that setup.

I'm not sure how accurate the video image would be doing that. I'm assuming it may come up lacking since the Matrox MXO exists and it's purpose is to "...take the DVI output from your Mac computer or laptop and convert it to broadcast-quality video."

I picked up one of those converters, and I have yet to make it work. I'm not sure exactly why. I've tried going into several different monitors, including my camcorder, and still nothing. Maybe I just have something set wrong. Anyway, hang on to the receipt.
