So, I just got a Mac Studio with the M1 chipset. I have 2 older monitors that use DVI connectors. I need a couple of cables that go from DVI to USB C (thunderbolt 4?) on the new mac. I can't find items on Amazon that mention the new chipsets. Anyone have any idea what should work? Reviews of Apple's own adapter are not good.

For one monitor, you can just use a HDMI to DVI cable or adapter and use the HDMI port on your Studio to save a USB port.

What resolution are the DVI displays? If they are more than 1920x1200 then you need Dual Link DVI adapters.

The NEC can have higher resolution, I think, but it is set to 1920x1200 It is pre-4k I think? NEC Multisync LCD 2690WUXi

For 1920x1200 any USB-C or DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI adapter should work as long as it doesn't require DisplayPort Dual Mode (DP++) because USB-C doesn't support DisplayPort Dual Mode. DisplayPort Dual Mode is not a thing with USB-C so you don't have to worry about USB-C to DVI or HDMI adapters (well, there is USB-C HDMI Alt Mode which no Macs support but I don't think anyone made adapters that require HDMI Alt Mode?)

Let us know if the cables you ordered work.

I would use 1 HDMI (Studio) to DVI (display)
and
1 USBc (Studio) to DVI (display).

Check the EDID from each port of the display. Maybe they have a weird 1920x1080 timing.
