Can Mobile Me be used as an alternative to dyndns?
What I'm trying to do is access my sister's Mac for troubleshooting and file/screen sharing. She has a Mac behind a router at her house. And I'm behind my router at my house.
I know I can set up dyndns for free to get her ip address, but she already has Mobile Me, and so do I (2 completely different accounts). I know Mobile Me uses dynamic ip updating like dyndns does. So is there a way to make use of it?
I found this interesting tutorial here http://www.macgurulounge.com/make-time-machine-remotely-back-up-to-your-time-capsule/ but I don't have a time capsule. I was wondering if the "username.members.me.com" domain name can somehow be used to acquire a current ip address.
Thanks
