The article makes it sound like this was a calculated decision when in reality this is what you'd expect it to do by default if they did not even think about screenshot behavior. This would also apply to an emulator or mirroring the display to anything. It's just a difference between the display as understood in software and the hardware reflection of that where they have cut holes in the screen. 🤦🏻♀️
I am more curious how this works with animation. If Apple did it right, the first frames of the expansion animation would be invisible on the hardware screen because it would take place under the cutout. Without that the animation would look very ugly when the dynamic island pops into view if you are looking at the software display without using the normal screen.
Guess I will find out when my device arrives and can plug it into my TV with my old adapter.
