So, I've watched about 20 videos on Apple Watch and still don't really know what the scenario of receving a new email and the corresponding notification actually looks like. Does anyone have a video or could perhaps produce one for me? Am considering purchasing an Apple Watch but don't know if it's actually worth it. The email part would be my major usage of the device.

Think of WatchOS as simply a remote display for your notifications. You can obviously enable or disable the apps you don't want pushing notifications to your watch.
Email notifications look exactly like your mail notifications do on your phone, just fitting to your watch screen.
