Hello there,

I'm already kinda 'desperate' regarding this matter.
Every now and then, e-mails sent via my iCloud account are not being received at all. I do not get any error message, nor do they end up in my Outbox folder or even people's junk mail folder.

What's even stranger is the fact that this (rarely!) occurs when I use the web-based version of iCloud, which I could live with on the computer but it's not possible on my iPhone. I've spoken to Apple about this over the phone and the guy was as helpful as banging my head against the wall (advised me check turn off my phone, bla bla bla... eventually even suggesting that I'd do a clean format on my Mac... *sigh*).

So in a nutshell: I am able to receive e-mails on iCloud but the one I sent are not being received without any apparent error. What's worse, it happens randomly. One day it's working fine the other none of my e-mails are getting through.

This has caused me some embarrassing situations with clients. I know the most obvious solution would be start using a different account like gmail but WAY too many people have my iCloud e-mail address, so it's not too practical.

Has anyone experienced the same thing and what did you do to sort it out ?
Thank you !

There are many conversations about iCloud mail reliability or lack thereof on this forum.

You may want to set up forwarding within iCloud and switch to a different provider if it's going to bother you. I've been considering the same for a long time.

I think I have intermittently. For the most part, more recently, it seems to work as expected. I have, however, had several moments where emails sent to people who are generally very reliable about acknowledging and/or responding seem to have gone missing. Hard to be sure.

Am considering switching to Outlook.com to see if I continue to feel it's an issue. I would go back to Gmail, but with no push support in the native iOS client...

No issues like that here. Been using iCloud as primary for 3 years. Wish it provided read updates across all devices, but for the most part its very good.

iCloud email

This is a post I replied to in another thread:

I understand your concern as I have been in same situation with iCloud mail. Sad but cannot be relied upon. Email is extremely important to me and most others as well. What I did about 2 1/2 years ago is purchase my own domain and now have a personal, paid professional email that is reliable and works fantastic across all of my apple devices. I have used both Office 365 and Google Apps for work with my personal domain and both work excellent. Both are priced similar approximately $5/month and provide instant push to my devices. If email is important to you I would suggest this route. You can have an email like first name@last name.com.
