I need a camera just for taking family pics on vacation, party, birthdays etc.

Which of these would be a good choice. Also low light indoor shots are important.

Check out these two web sites.

    http://www.dpreview.com
    http://www.dcresource.com

They both have excellent reviews. DCResource is probably the most consumer friendly.

Honestly, based on your criteria, it sounds like you're a pretty casual shooter. I'd suggest the latter two over the e-pl2 (which I own). Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty nice camera. However, the e-pl2 isn't as compact. Though it may have somewhat better low light performance, you might want to compare the results of the other two with it.

If, however, you are considering getting more deeply into photography and want to learn about aperture settings, depth of field, etc., the e-pl2 is a better choice. But, remember, in this case, you may find the cost of ownership to be a lot higher once you start thinking about getting additional lenses to maximize your low light capabilities.

The xz-1 and S95 are also a lot more compact. That can often mean the difference between having the camera with you (and getting a shot) versus not having the camera with you.

None of these are going to be stellar for capturing kids running around crazy-like (which they always seem to do). But, that's a limitation of nearly all cameras in their classes.
