On Firefox for Windows, there is this fantastic utility called RoboForm. It securely stores information in profiles, and then you can either tell it to "Fill & Submit" automatically or on the other extreme, password-protect a site before any info is populated.

Does anything like this exists for Safari or Firefox?

1Passwd -- Password Manager and Form Filler for Mac OS X can provide these features on Mac. 1Passwd was released in June.
