I have to say that this has, for me, been Ubisoft's E3, as painful as it is to say it. I'm looking forward to a new Assassin's Creed and Farcry of course but what I'm most excited for is Beyond Good & Evil 2. The original was my second favourite third-party Gamecube game and easily in my top ten overall, so I'm thrilled that it was announced; I only hope that it doesn't take five years to release. Bethesda's announcement of The New Colossus was very welcome as I love both The New Order and The Old Blood.
I'm interested in the XB1X, perhaps a bit later in cycle, to play a backlog of exclusives and to have a UHD player in my office. I was very fond of Ori and the Blind Forest, so a sequel is a pleasant idea. Anthem, I'm conflicted about, in that the game is obviously what Mass Effect: Andromeda ought to have been.
Oddly, nothing I've heard regarding the Switch, or any of the rumours prior to today's presentation, make me at all interested in picking one up. I wasn't particularly impressed with Splatoon and Kingdom Battle is atrocious to me, as I despise rabbids. Moreover, if I want to play X-Com, I'll play X-Com.
Sony's presentation was a mixed bag. I'm not remotely interested in God of War; that's my brother's pet series but I never cared for it. Very interested to see the Shadow of the Colossus remake. Days Gone looks good for a survival horror game but I'm so bloody tired of zombies. The game I'm most interested in for the PS4 is Detroit Become Human. If they can actually manage the branching story in a fulfilling manner and have it not be contrived, I really think the game could be a GOTY contender.
