I am wondering if anyone has had any trouble with the ear speaker of your iPhone. I researched and found it could be software issues but I believe it is more hardware. I never dropped it in water, but I use the phone at the gym and use disinfecting wipes (very carefully) on it.

I am assuming it has been damaged in some sort of way and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue. If you did, did you get it repaired at apple and on average how much did it cost? I don't have apple care but I assume it cannot be too expensive.

Thank You

Have you had your phone exposed to heat? Like left it sitting in your car on a hot day? When I had my iPhone X, I left it sitting on the dash for an hour. When I retrieved it, I noticed the same issues you have. I made an appointment at the Apple Store and had the diagnostic ran where the earpiece speaker had to be replaced. They ended up replacing the whole screen for free, since it was also under warranty.

It could be a software issue. Something similar happened to me with one of my old iPhone. But it solved after I updated it to the next iOS version. Actually, I could not remember the version might be iOS 10 or iOS 11. So did you try to update it? If that also did not fix the issue it can be a hardware issue. So you can repair or replace it around $80 as far as I know.

Thanks for the replies. I'll head over to the closest apple store (1 hr away which is why I wanted to get an idea before I drive out there) and have them look at it. I update my phone often so I think software is ruled out.
