I enjoy listening to audiobooks or music while lying down on my side before bed, head on the pillow. The issue is that most wireless earbuds are so bulky, making them really uncomfortable for this position.

The regular AirPods were okay in terms of bulkiness/comfort when lying down, but would slip out whenever I'd move my head. And now, after they had an accidental trip through the washing machine, I need new earbuds.

Can anyone comment how the AirPods Pro feel with an ear against the pillow? Or has anyone had luck with a different pair of wireless earbuds in this position? I'd splurge on the $200 sale price of Pros for the easiness/connectivity of it being an apple product, but otherwise would prefer to keep the price under $100.

I lost one of my AirPods Pro that way. It turned up behind the bed months later.

For this purpose, stay away from the PowerBeats Pro.
Frequently the pressure will either give you a Siri prompt or pause the audio.

^^This. Kinda.

Guessing any brand can be susceptible pressure/taps/gestures.

Cheap corded might be the way to go.

EDIT: or if no-one sleeping next to you, the speaker of the device? I do that.

The regular Apple EarPods (most recent redesign) are comfy. I’ve slept with them before. That or regular AirPods.
