early 09 macbook doesn't start normally

hello,

my macbook will only boot up if i hold the option key and select my ssd in the boot menu. it has 10.11.4 installed.

What happens if you don't hold down option?

Have you tried selecting your hard drive as the start up disk after the machine boots up?

I would also recommend selecting your drive in Startup Disk after boot, it should fix it.
