    Hello,

I have an early 2007 MBP 2.33 with 2 gigs of Ram. I am considering the upgrade to 3 gigs (which is max). My machine currently has a matched pair of 1 gig sticks. Is there anyone out there who has upgraded and can tell me if its worth it or not?

I know that matched pairs give a significant performance boost.. would I be wasting my money?

[ Because I know I will get asked, yes I do much more than surf the web with it. At any given time I might be running TextMate, Cyberduck (or transmit) Photoshop, a web browser, mail.app, AdiumX, iTunes and or iCal. I also use Pro Tools LE from time to time. ]

I'm curious to know the answer to the question your asking too:

Quicker to have a 2GB module and a 1GB module, or a 3GB on it's own? Or is having two different RAM sizes not a matched pair?

I was thinking of sticking in a 2GB stick into my MBP to make it 3GB but not sure on the performance boost or if that is a matched combination?

It'll only register 3.3GB though - what did you upgrade it from? 1GB?

No, I want to install a 2gb stick so that I have 1 2gb stick and 1 1gb stick. I guess I would sell other other stick.

    Any other comments?
