Early 2008 MacBook Pro Very Slow

[help!!!!!]

Hey,
Lately my MBP has been very slow. Freezing up every few minutes. I have deleted a ton of files and cleared the RAM. Everything and it is still really slow. What can I do to speed it up besides buying more RAM?

What kind of files? System files or just personal files? Have you tried repairing permissions?

Personal files and some system files that I do not need anymore. I am about to.

After permissions repair try verifying the hard drive in disk utility. You might also want to get replacement restore disks from Apple
