I had bought the early 2008 model of the macbook and had the memory upgraded to 4 GB. For the upgrade I put in 2x2GB Kingston sticks.

But a few of my courses at school require a video card that handle 3D graphics, and the old macbook's video card does not suffice. So luckily I have someone who will buy my current macbook so I can purchase the late 2008 macbook.

My question is whether the old macbook ram can be used in the new updated macbooks and vise versa. I want to put the ram I had bought for my early 2008 MB into the new MB, and the ram from the new to the old.

Any info is helpful, Thank you.

I did the same thing the new model uses different (faster) RAM. I bought 4gb from Crucial.com for about $140.
