Hello everyone, after two new SSD's a new SATA cable, new set of RAM and two clean install's I have FINALLY figured out what was wrong with my computer. My bottom RAM slot does not work. When I run with RAM inserted only into the top slot everything is fine. With both slots filled, or only the bottom slot I run into problems.

Long story short I need advice on either replacing this myself or having someone do it for me. Basically anything would be helpful. I don't even know what part needs to be replaced or where to get it. So if anyone that has done this could point me in the right direction it would be great.

Thanks in advance!

You'd have to replace the entire Logic Board to fix that. Honestly not an economically viable repair, going on the age of your machine.

As JTToft suggested, just stick to 8GB RAM.

That is exactly what I didn't want to hear! I was hoping I could just replace the ram module somehow. I bought 8gb of ram (2x4) so I'll have to see if I can return that and just go with one 8gb card.

Thanks for the help!

Well, I just installed Mavericks on her from Recovery Mode right onto the hard-drive I thought was dead (previously was running Lion) and she's up and running! Not sure for how long, but its a lot quicker than it was before! Pretty upset that I f'd up the RAM slot still, but pretty stoked to be able to log my roasts for the time being!
