Hi, I am having a hard time to decide whetehr to get rid of my MBP. It is Eraly 2011 model. It still runs great. CoconutBattery shows 140 cycle counts and 92% of the original battery capacity. My problem is with the low-resolution screen and the hot temperature of the machine. Should I get rid of it for a new computer? It's so tempting to get a newer computer with much higher screen resolution but my current mbp is still pretty healthy. Thanks for the advice.

Unless you're willing to pay a lot for (and need)a Retina display and a decent sized SSD, then stick with what you've got. The non retina MBP has the same resolution that you've already got which is fine unless you're seriously into high end photography. Even my brand new MBP runs hot when it's busy.

I kept my White Macbook for over 6 years, until Costco had an offer that was difficult to pass up.

Thank you, Dave.
