I'm more shocked Apple still updates the OS X Server apps!

Either it's an error, or it really suggests that there will be an update in April. I think May-August updates tend to be labeled as "mid" year.

This model was originally slated for the March keynote but it was pushed out by Apple Marketing. The target is now WWDC in June but there's also the possibility that it might be released a short time earlier to not overshadow the WWDC announcement. Stay tuned.

Source??

The closer it comes to WWDC, the less likely I'll buy one. If they're planning new thin MBPs I'm definitely going to wait to see what those are like. Currently have a MacBook Air 13". The 12" MacBook would be a great replacement, but a 13" MBP that's about as thin as the Air... even better!

I would bet that we will see a thinner 13 inch rmbp. It's been over 3 years since the last pro redesign.

LOL, like do you expect people to not remember your "guarantees" of a March rollout, the one you've been touting since last Halloween? And now they're going to believe this super secret insider nonsense from you about "Apple Marketing"?

It was pushed out, why? Because they didn't want to steal the massive thunder of the Apple Watch Rubber Strap launch?

You can stop now. "Stay tuned". LOL. Who?

BJ

Maybe one of those days the iPad Pro or iPhone SE go on sale, they might take the store down for a bit and do the silent update.

It was pushed out, why?

Keynotes are fluid until about 24 hours before they are given. Over the course of the months before you'll hear lots of rumors, some baseless and some due to the facts of the time. The key point any competent executive understands is the business dynamics can change at a moment's notice based on various factors that impact the message of the moment. The March keynote focus changed around the turn of the year to be purely non-Mac centric to allow the new Macs to fill the line up for June WWDC. The June line up is now approaching but is oversubscribed so there's a better than evens chance that there will be a quiet Mac announcement to not steal the June WWDC thunder. As I say, stay tuned, you especially!

Oh SNAP!

My guess is next month. It will be considered a "minor" refresh because the new chips aren't that much of an upgrade, especially the integrated graphics.

The "early 2016" kind of gives confirmation.

SHHH.

The more silent you are, the higher the odds of a silent upgrade.

If there is a "silent" update of the rMb it will just be a spec bump, no TB3, as that`s something Apple will want to shout about. Then we will need to wait another cycle, equally there`s always the Apple Watch Rubber Strap :)

Now, now, even a watch that doesn't run is accurate twice a day :)

How much of an improvement is the upcoming Retaina Macbooks with the mentioned processors in the article compared to lasst years model? I bought the 1.3ghz version last year. Will they be noticeably faster?

Yup, probably just as well there no silent update, I'd rather see a full blown Mac Event.
