Bought the iPhone X in 2017. January 2019, 1 month out of warranty poof...the Face ID is Not Available appears. I have done all I can do from a fix perspective except make an animal sacrifice and take it to the Genius Bar. Today I "chatted" with an Apple Support person online. He told me there are no open tech bulletins or recalls or any recourse. I will be charged. So I guess that's that. US$1,099.00 for a device who's main selling feature is broken. I am not about to pay a dime for any True Depth camera fix they state will fix the problem. It is also the last time I get an Apple product without AppleCare. Which reminds me, I need to get AppleCare on this brand new MBP.
