I'm looking to purchase a late 2017 27-inch iMac to replace my early 2008 24-inch iMac. Knowing Apple identify their products (in this case iMacs) as early 20xx, mid 20xx, late 20xx. Can someone tell whether or not Apple will do another spec update before the years over?

very unlikely.
the imac pro is coming out in december and apple wants to cash in on those as well.

That's what I need to know, thanks so much. Now I have to decide on what configuration to go with.

Rocking a 2008 24” as well. Why don’t they offer that size. Oh well, like you I’m looking to retire her, so I’m interested in the responses as well.

@dulaney22, I know I want the 27-inch, 8GB RAM, and 4.2GHz quad-core processor. I will buy additional memory separately as it'll be cheaper. I just can't decide on what hard drive to go with. What about you?
