I am trying to revive some Cubase tracks on my G4 Cube that I made back in the early 2000s on my old 700mhz G4 iMac. I kept the project and audio files, but none of the software. I have managed to find Cubase SE (which is the DAW I used back then) but I cannot for the life of me find any OS X PPC compatible VST plugins, either legally or illegally.

I have looked in the usual spots - macintoshgarden, macintoshrepository, torrent sites etc, there are loads of OS 9 plugins, but I'm really struggling to find any VSTs for this era of music production. The main one I need is HALion 2 as that is what I used for sampling back then, but aside from that I'm looking for any good free or 'obsolete' instruments or effects that will run on a 450mhz G4.

Sorry if this is bordering on a 'warez' post, but I can't even find any of this old software to buy on eBay. So if anyone knows any websites, forums etc that I should check out, I would really appreciate it! I'm a big believer in archiving obsolete software, but it seems most of this stuff has vanished off the face of the Earth over the last 20 years.

BTW I have already tried Steinberg's FTP site, it does not have any usable VSTs as they all either require the hardware dongle or original install CDs to install.

Have you tried OS9Lives? They have OSX stuff aswell as OS9?

Thanks, just had a look but didn't see any downloads on the main pages, do you mean in the forum over there? I can't access it without an account.
