What do all these upgrade once a year things mean for people who already are on a two year contract? Can they still upgrade once a year? Or do they have to wait till their contracts over/pay the ETF to be a part of the program?

I would think their contract has to end/ get a new device to get the new 1 upgrade a year.

The rules have changed for some of the carriers OP (Verizon for one. Still two yr contract). Decide of which carrier has the better plan. AT&T and T-Mobil are moving to another plan.

To clarify -T-Mobile did move to another plan and then added their Jump service offering.

AT&T didn't move to another plan -- they've merely soured the current plans with the elimination of early upgrades but haven't changed them. Next is essentially a service overlay.
