I've jailbroken my phone twice with redsn0w and have been mostly happy with the results, except after a time i hear a crackling sound where I hear someone and don't. Eventually it stops working altogether. I thought maybe the phone was "tricked" into thining the earbuds were still in, so i blew in the headphone jack, but to no avail. However, after both restores, I have no problems.
Do you think this is redsn0w? Do I jailbreak another way? Particular apps or tweaks causing this? Btw, my firmware is 4.2.1.
