Just wondering if anyone really knows whether the old in ear Apple Headphones were meant to be replaced by EarPods last year or if they're still the 'premium upgrade' option like they were prior to the introduction of EarPods?

I'm thinking in getting a nice pair of in-ear headphones for Christmas and want to know if spending 50+ on the In-Ears would be worth it, or if I should go up a bit more and get those Beats In-Ear ones?

Thanks

I can't say whether they are "meant" to be a premium option or not, but when I got them with my iPhone, I found they were a significant improvement in terms of listening quality over the old earbuds. No doubt some high quality non-apple options do exist, and if I were in the market, I would consider all the options.
