Yeah, it was pretty neat, but by the time I fugured out it was an earthquake it was over. I have never been in one before, so I had no idea what was going on. Now, any sudden shake in my office I prepare for an earthquake, I suppose that feeling will pass soon.

I'm glad I don't live in California, but then again the people who live there must understand that there is the danger of earthquakes...right?

As long as the fear of earthquakes keeps the population from exploding any more, that's fine with me.;)

California and San Diego native.
Here comes another Rose Parade, showing off our wonderful Southern California weather, thereby causing 1000s more people to move to California. It happens every year.

I'll take earthquakes over floods or hurricanes any ol' time.

I'm surprised it's not more people moving there. When I moved to Floriduh in January 1997, it was something like 40,000 people per month moving here. Of course, they don't visit in July or during a hurricane. I think it was something like 10,000 people a month leaving Floriduh during hurricane season (June 1 - November 30).

I first lived in San Fran bay area when my adoptive parents brought me to the U.S.A. and we had a few 5.5s and I've been through a few outside California. The scary part is not knowing if the quake you just experienced was the primary or the secondary jolt.

Hehe, the scary part is wondering whether the 6.5 quake you felt will become known as a foreshock of a larger quake or whether it will just subside into aftershocks.

And yes, we know there are risks, but how many people have been killed in earthquakes here per year, versus other types of natural disasters? I consider it a fair trade to live in paradise.;)
