Awww I am happy for you and hope you really enjoy it! I never played too many of the SIMS but for some reason intrigued.

It does seem both fun and interesting. But I guess like any games you can spend countless hours and days playing.

I am still on the fence...only because I am not a fan of playing games on a mac or macbook air lappy. Probably because I have game consoles.

Hmmm do donwload or not is my question.

Tip for any potential buyers. If you use Hola on chrome, set it to browsing from Mexico and go to the Origin store there. I was able to get the Deluxe version for $29 (or £18 for me), paid with PayPal and no hitches. Hope this helps! :)

It's showing $34.99 in the Mexico store, and giving errors when you try to add it to your cart, so you can't buy it.

Edit: US cart seems to be freaking out as well. Also, on the US Origin store, it's showing $59.99 for the regular version and $69.99 for the digital deluxe version. What a freaking ripoff.

Yah, too steep in US store etc.

Mexico seems what the price should be. Actually price went up in the mexico store by $5 from earlier tonight.

Help!

Hi everyone! So I purchased The Sims 4 on christmas eve this year on my MAC. Being an idiot and not realizing that it wasn't available for MAC yet. So I have the PC version downloaded on my Origins account and I'm obviously not able to play it. Aren't we supposed to be able to download the MAC version for free? I keep seeing it everywhere but no one is posting on how to do so. Please help!

See I'm not trying to transfer any files to my MAC. I simply have the PC version on my MAC through Origin. I figured since it was a digital release that I could just download the MAC version at no extra cost like they were saying. I just hope I didn't purchase the game and then not be able to play it ever. After I was told that I could just download the proper version once it was released.

Here you go

1. Download Origin for Mac at: www.origin.com/download.

2. Create an Origin Account or login with an existing Origin account. An account is required in order to play The Sims 4.

3. Under the ‘Games’ drop-down menu (top left), click on ‘Redeem Product Code.’

4. Input your The Sims 4 product code, found within the packaging/insert.

5. Once the code is redeemed, The Sims 4 will begin to download in your Origin Library.

6. Once download is complete, you will be able to launch The Sims 4 and begin playing.

Looks like you just need to re enter the code that came with PC version.

I tried that already! :[ I didn't buy the game in stores. I purchased it online through Origin. I tried to enter the code and it says the code has already been used. I'm assuming it just means its already dowloaded. Which it is, but its only the PC version.

Ohhh mmmm I don't know then. Maybe have to contact them? :(

Thanks

thank you sir. It's people like you why i'm still alive today ;)

Yah i managed to get it to work after a few tries.

Thanks to the poster for this savings.

I never had to select which language to download.

It defaulted to english I guess.

I've got to say, if anyone is like me and completely adored The Sims and Sims 2, but was disappointed with Sims 3, Sims 4 probably won't make you happy either. For me personally, the original spirit of the game has still not been brought back and also Sims 4 goes more into the direction of a gimmicky adventure game than that clean, sand-boxed simulation as which I perceived The Sims and Sims 2. Luckily Origin offers a 24-hour-return period, so I'm not too fussed about it.

Honestly, all I want is Sims 2 with better graphics. :D But that ship has probably sailed a long time ago and there is no turning back from the direction Sims has taken since the third installment. That's okay though as long as Sims 2 is being supported by my hardware. :)

I've been a big fan of the sims since just before the sims 2 released. I've played all of the games and bought every expansion (except Into the Future) when the sims 4 was announced I couldn't have been more disappointed, they had butchered my favourite franchise, I wasn't sure it could be saved. Excuses about toddlers and pools weren't good enough and I had no intention of ever playing this game.

That was until today! After seeing the Mexico purchasing method I thought, why not, if I hate it I've only spent £20 instead of £60 eh? Well I jumped and this game is great! It runs so smoothly, I never expected this quality at all. I've been playing for about 3 hours now and I'm just liking it more and more!

I'm still not happy about toddlers though :p

Since the people creator is so much more detailed, Can I now I can create a world with me and all my past crushes? Maybe one will go out with me this time?

/ It's not creepy at all :p

Thanks for the tip! It definitely works! Wondering if I could have gotten it even cheaper from another country now! LOL

Oh no :( I downloaded from Mexico store and now my sims are speaking Spanish I think. Everything else is in English.

I'm a newb so can this be changed or ?

Thanks

Oh lol ok so I should be ok.

Sorry for a very newb question.

I'm not suppose to really know what there saying ?

As long as menu etc is English I'm fine?

Btw this runs really smooth on my MacBook Air.

Performance:

I normaly hate EA and their buggy, slow Mac code. Sims 3 was a prime example of this.

Just bought Sims 4 for my daughter yesterday (she's been waiting for almost two years). And I'm happy to report that the game seems stable – it runs much faster and way better than Sims 3. And my daughter is smiling.
Even graphics wise the game performs really fine on her (lowest recommended specs) MacBook at 2,4GHz C2D, 320M, 4GB RAM.
