Hey guys, I just picked up a 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.6GHz 6-core Intel Core i7 and I am looking to hook up to a dual monitor setup. I am relatively uneducated on the connectivity options so I apologize for any shortcomings. I purchased a TBI PRO dock and unfortunately it will only show the same display on each screen. The monitors are 24" AOC.
Is there an adapter I can use or am I better off ordering a new docking system?

Thanks in advance!

You'll need a Thunderbolt dock like the CalDigit TS3+ or Dell WD19TB. I use both at home and work with 2 external 1440p displays. With the Mac you just need the second display to go through the USB-C or Thunderbolt and not use the other Display adapters. It's something with how the display adapter in your macbook works.

If I were to connect my MBP to the dock I currently have, and run one screen through the HDMI or the VGA on the dock, would I then be able to use a usb-c to HDMI and connect directly from the MBP to the display for the second screen? Sounds messy but I'm just curious.

Probably not as it is a USB-C dock and not a Thunderbolt dock. Same connector but Thunderbolt offers a lot more bandwidth.
