I want to do a very simple image combination. I just want to add a hat on top of a character in an image. I don't have Photoshop. I used to use Gimp for this sort of thing, but I can't get it to work with Lion. Is there an easy way to do this in Lion without spending a ton of money?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Maybe seashore? It's free and on sourceforge.

I sometimes use this online photo editor: http://pixlr.com/

I am using Gimp on Lion without any issues. Works fine. I installed it on Snow Leopard then did the App Store Lion upgrade and Gimp still worked.

    What's the problem with Gimp?

X11 loads and the Gimp simple shows up on the dock, but whenever I click on GIMP, only the X11 windows shows up. Even trying to get Gimp active in the menu is impossible.
