I ended up keeping my iphone 4 and then tried the Galaxy S3 for a couple of days when it came out. I decided transitioning from the Apple ecosystem was too frustrating and took it back in order to see the iphone 5, which I got on launch day and have been using since.
I am to the point now, however, where I have grown tired of the elongated 4" screen which should have been widened. Now that the S4 has been announced and we know generally what the iphone "5S" will be, I am looking into getting the galaxy s3 or s4. I still don't understand the best way to sync music from my Mac. When I had the galaxy, the Samsung software wasn't yet compatible with my Snow Lion Mac. Transferring pictures is also an issue. Using Google for calendar, contacts and email syncing seems acceptable, though I do remember not liking some of the Google stylistic differences, as compared to iCloud
