Just a quick question. I recently switched to Macs in May, and am loving them so far.

I always constantly change computers as I always have that "itch" to try something new (with windows desktops/laptops, I used to switch like once every 3-6 months, lol).

Anyways, I had a Macbook as my first ever Mac, and now I want to try out a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. I backed up my Macbook with the "SuperDuper!" software. Now since Apple supports just a few different hardware configs/specs with there somewhat limited models of computers, would it be as easy for me to "restore" my computer as just restoring my SuperDuper! backup onto a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro, and everything should work 100%? Or will it be buggy and I have to reinstall OS X from scratch, since it's a different model laptop with slightly different hardware specs?

Thanks in advance.

The hardware specs might cause an issue since SuperDuper is many for restoring the same computer that was duplicated. If you want to switch Macs but move all your settings to it you can use the Migration Assistant during the initial setup. And it definitely wont cause an issue. Or you can run the Migration Assistant at any time from the Applications/Utilities folder. I believe Time Machine can even be used as a way to migrate your settings.

Thanks for your response. I'll give Migration Assistant a try, never used it before.

I guess it can "migrate" from my "SuperDuper!" backup on my external hard drive eh? Seems pretty slick. :)
