Easy way to Mass/Group text?

This has been one of the things I've wanted most for my iPhone. I'm a high school soccer coach and constantly have to text groups of 15-30 people, depending on if my message is for all of my players, varsity only, jv only, parents and players, etc. For now I've resigned myself to using ABContacts, but I would greatly prefer having it integrated into iOS. ABContacts gets the job done, but while it's sending out the messages, the phone slows to a crawl and is almost unusable. Before I upgraded to my iPhone 4S, the iPhone 4 would sometimes crash in the middle of group messaging, which was a huge pain.

Do you have an huge number of archived messages in the Apple Messages app ?
The phone can become very slow and unstable when the archive is very large.
You may want to try to delete old messages (or all messages) and see it this helps.

I use group text all the time. Granted nothing large. But my band uses it coordinate practice and what not.

I just go in an add each person separately. However, if I could create a group, I can see that as a nice feature. Surprised by all the negatives on something like this actually.

Yeah, sending jokes like the example above is nothing compared to what it is really important. I coordinate projects, school work, work team meetings and mass text every day so it will be nice and a simple feature to add. This post remind me of the UI and Time on text thread, they are easy to implement and were implemented long time ago in older phones.

In all honesty as I'm on my phone I didn't notice she was a she I'd assumed I was chatting to men. And before someone says it... No im not, and eh is there any way out of this LOL

It wasn't until she said - there's a man that has that job that I realised.

I've been using the app GroupMe for organizing group projects, keeping in touch with social circles, and with my internships. it's an almost seamless experience.

No, when I upgraded to the 4S, I got rid of all of my messages. Also tried it with a fresh restore of my 4, and it was still slow.

Some user reported they sent to more than 700 recipients on the iPhone 4S (personally I tested the app up to 350).

If i want to text suppose like 50 people at once, on my other phones I can go to my address book and put a checkmark on all the names press select and boom I'm done, is there an easy way on iPhone instead of selecting one at a time it takes ages

Improvement. Make it free. Sorry but I ain't paying that much for something that should be in the phone in the first place.

If I want to mass text I just hit - a - then select who comes up. Then b and select who I want. Then c and so on. It's not exactly how it is on other phones but it works fine.

I still don't get why we can't get groups :/. If I want to send a message to the band I'd like to just check "Band" and it send to everyone in there, not have to choose each person.

Thanks for your comments guys, I'm working on some improvements for the next release, and I'll try to improve the handling of the creation of groups.
