When photos first leaked I scoffed at the choice of a dual element back. It didn't seem Apple like... and I said something like "It's evident Jobs is not longer present..."

I've had a change of heart. The white iPhone 5, at least, represents the core DNA of Apple design.

However, the black version, not so much. I feel like it was a competitive choice... "keep up with the Joneses". Not to mention the reports of the coloration wearing away. I digress. It's a great device.

I can't agree with the OP more.

I raged on forums about the back of the phone. It looked disjointed and terrible.

Now that I'm holding one I disagree with my original analysis.

I love this phone. Work of art.

Is this the same thing that happened with the iPhone 4? "This isn't like Apple." When people personally saw the device they loved it.

Happened to me too..
